What do I have to do for you to make you notice me?
I've tried and failed time and time again
But I get right and dust the scrapes right off of my knees.

What do I have to say to you to tell you that we're through?
With all my signs and sidewalk lies you have yet to find any sort of clue.

Imagine all those times we stood
hand in hand and faced the moon
And recited the crudest poetry
on the spot
with no chance to stutter

It was easy

I suppose its funny in a different light
you were the best I ever had
But lately I've been thinking hard
and I'm sincere when I say you drive me completely mad

It was never fair
I'd offer you my hand to take
and we never slipped and fell out down below

Will you let me go?
Just let me be?
I'm asking you, and pleeding you
Simply keep from me?
